Hello my beauties! I’m back, and I feel refreshed, happy, and I now have so many stories to tell you. We took a few days to get out of our routine (which I highly recommend, it doesn’t matter if you don’t go on the vacation of all vacations, just getting out of your routine for a few days is healthy and a must-do). We went to New York, which is one of our favorite cities. A little over a year ago we went and we have been looking for a good time to go back, because the truth is that it’s a magical, fascinating, and charming city that neither of us can get enough of.
Since I was traveling with Vera I knew I had to go as comfortably as possible, so I decided to wear one of my favorite shirts, which is very light and comfortable from Forever 21. I found the skirt recently at the same store, and it hit me like lightning (so romantic, I know), and even though I’ve already talked about several things I love at first sight and want them with all my heart, that’s honestly exactly what happened with this starry beauty. The main reason I loved it so much was the opening that begins at the top of the leg, which is one of the most charming details you can find in a maxi dress.
I had planned to walk a ton and carry Vera 75% of the day, so I knew I had to wear tennis shoes (which I used a lot during the trip). You already know how much I love heels, but there is a time for everything and when you go on a very touristy trip (like our trip to NY), and especially if you travel with a young baby, sporty shoes are without a doubt the best. What I needed most, though, was a pair of sporty shoes that also matched almost all of my outfits, which is why I chose a pair of white shoes, which worked incredibly, matching nearly every outfit, all of which I took with me after meticulously choosing and analyzing each one (obviously).
In this look I felt fun, comfortable, and sexy, without sacrificing my true essence for even a second and really maintaining my style. But here is an important point: being comfortable doesn’t mean you have to leave fabulousness to the side, by no means at all. Mix and match casual looks that you could wear with heels and throw tennis shoes on the end and ta-da! Just because you’re wearing tennis shoes doesn’t mean the rest of the outfit has to be sporty too (unless that’s what you’re going for).
I think the whole process becomes easier if you apply this technique of putting together an outfit without thinking of the shoes and then, at the end, you add a pair that either matches or contrasts in a fitting, stylish way. Hola bellezas, ya estoy de vuelta renovada, feliz y con muchas historias para contarles. Nos tomamos unos días para escaparnos de la rutina (se los recomiendo, no importa si no se van a la mega vacación, salir de la rutina unos días es indispensable y sano), nos fuimos a New York, que es una de nuestras ciudades favoritas. Hace un año también fuimos por la misma fecha y quedamos pendientes de volver por más, porque la verdad es que es una ciudad mágica, fascinante y encantadora.
Como viajaba con Vera sabía que tenía que ir lo mas cómoda posible, así que escogí una de mis camisas favoritas, que es una camisa blanca súper fresca y cómoda de Forever 21. La falda me la encontré hace poco en la misma tienda y fue un flechazo. Les he comentado de esas cosas que veo y se roban mi corazón de inmediato, y eso fue lo que me pasó con esta belleza de estrellas. La razón principal por la que la amé fue la abertura de la pierna, es uno de los detalles más cautivadores para mí en una maxi falda.
Tenía en mente que debía caminar mucho y cargar a Vera el 75% del día así que sabía que debía usar deportivas (las usé mucho durante el viaje). Ya saben que me encantan los tacones pero hay momentos para todo y cuando te vas de viaje a turistear, como era mi caso y especialmente con una bebé, lo mejor son las deportivas (sin dudarlo). Lo que sí necesitaba era unas que me combinaran con todo y por eso opté por estas blancas que pude combinar súper fácil con todos mis outfits, los cuales llevé previamente elegidos y analizados (obviamente).
En este look me sentí divertida, cómoda y coqueta, sin dejar de ser yo ni un segundo y manteniendo mi estilo, estar cómoda no significa que hay que dejar la fabulosidad de un lado. Combinen outfits casuales que se pondrían con un par de tacones y de último agreguen deportivas y tarán! Llevar deportivas no significa que el resto del outfit deba ser deportivo (a menos de que eso sea lo que estás buscando), yo creo que el proceso se hace más fácil si aplican esta técnica de escoger la ropa sin pensar en los zapatos y de último agregarlos en un color que combine o contraste.
