Oh Lola

Hello my beauties! Today I’m sharing a post I loved because I had so much fun making it. I don’t know if you are as intense as me with family and themed pictures, but I love everything we can do together and if it was up to me we would match as a family all day, every day – giggles. So I of course took advantage of Halloween to make a post of three easy, affordable costume options for families.

Let’s start with the super fun and easy “bandits” costume, which must be one of the easiest of all time. All you need are t-shirts or dresses with black and white stripes for the whole family, an accessory or two, and ta-da! You’ve got it.

Essential Accessories:

-A mask

-Gloves

-A money bag. I bought mine at Michael’s and I made the money symbol at home with a glue gun and black yarn, but you can also draw or paint it on if that’s easier.

-You can also add a black beanie if you have one, but we didn’t have any so we didn’t make our costume too complicated.

Hola bellezas, hoy traigo un post que me encantó porque me divertí mucho haciéndolo, no sé si ustedes son tan intensas como yo con la familia y con los temas, pero yo amo que todo lo hagamos juntos y si fuese por mí nos combinaría a los tres todos los días –risas– así que aproveché Halloween para hacer un post de tres opciones súper fáciles y económicas de disfraces familiares.

Vamos a empezar con uno súper divertido y sencillo, “Los bandidos” este debe ser uno de los disfraces más fáciles de todos los tiempos, franelas o vestidos de rayas blancas y negras para toda la familia, uno que otro accesorio y tarán ahí lo tienes!

Accesorios indispensables:

-El antifaz

-Los guantes

-La bolsa de dinero: yo compré la mía en Michael’s y le hice el símbolo en mi casa con una pistola de goma caliente y un hilo negro grueso que ya tenía en casa, también la puedes dibujar o pintar como te sea más fácil.

-Podrían agregar si tienen gorros negros, yo no tenía por eso no los agregué para no complicarme mucho.

The second costume is “Frida, Diego, and Little Frida.” We laughed so hard with this costume! The idea came from my unbound love for Frida and I though Vera would be the cutest little Frida, and I just loved the result!

Essential Accessories:

Frida:

-Eyebrows: I drew on my eyebrows with shadow and a pencil trying to make the famous Frida unibrow. On Vera I just used a little shadow and with my finger I rubbed it on and it turned out great.

-Necklaces: I’m completely sure that I put on all of the necklaces I own. The idea was to go all out to look similar to Frida and use accessories she might’ve actually used.

-Long earrings: a small but important detail, very distinctive to really sell the character.

-Long skirt: long skirts are the main detail in almost all of Frida’s outfits, and I wanted to work with what I had in my closet so I used a black one but if you have a bright color, all the better.

-Flower Crown: To me this is the most important accessory in the costume, with braids and a crown made of flowers which is what gives the perfect touch to the Frida costume.

Diego:

-Suit: Use a wide, classic looking suit, which is perfect and is exactly what was used in that era.

-The belly: This is a must-have! It’s the most distinctive detail of Don Diego, and we just used a pillow and that’s it (it’s really that easy).

El Segundo es “Frida, Diego y Fridita” como nos reímos con este disfraz, la idea nace de mi amor descontrolado por Frida y pensé omg Vera se debe ver demasiado hermosa de Frida, amé el resultado.

Accesorios indispensables:

Frida (s):

-Cejas: yo me pinté mis cejas con sombra y lápiz intentando hacer la famosa ceja de Frida. Para Vera utilicé un poquitico de sombra y con el dedo se la apliqué entre sus cejas y le quedó perfecto.

-Collares: estoy segura de que me puse todos los collares que tengo, la idea era recargar para asemejar a las prendas un poco más folklóricas que usaba Frida.

-Zarcillos largos: un detalle pequeño pero importante y súper distintivo del personaje.

-Falda larga: las faldas de Frida son las protagonistas de casi todos sus outfits, yo quería trabajar con cosas que tenía en mi closet así que usé negro pero si tienen de colores mucho mejor.

-Tocado de Flores: Es para mí el accesorio más importante en el disfraz, las típicas trenzas en corona y el tocado de flores es lo que le da el toque perfecto e inconfundible del personaje.

Diego:

-Traje: Un traje ancho de corte clásico, es perfecto y era lo que se usaba en la época.

-Barriga: Es indispensable, pues lo más distintivo de Don Diego era su barriga, usamos un cojín y ya (así de fácil).

The third option are “The Pandas.” I loved this costume because my husband has always said Vera was “a little love panda”, even when she was just a bun in the oven, so as soon as I saw the masks in Party City I thought the ywere perfect for us. Besides, the colors are very easy and classic, and all you need is black and white so we just added the mask and ended up with this great, cute costume.

I hope this serves as a little inspiration for your own costumes, we had such a good time making ours. The idea is to be creative and use what you have on-hand. La tercera opción, son “Los Pandas”, yo amé este disfraz porque mi esposo siempre desde que Vera estaba en la barriga la llamaba “mi pandita de amor.” Así que cuando vi las máscaras en Party City dije ah es perfecto para nosotros, además los colores son súper fáciles y clásicos sólo nos vestimos de blanco y negro agregamos la máscara y así quedamos.
