Oh Lola

I love Valentine’s Day, there’s nothing more special than celebrating love. I’m lucky enough to live in a house where not only do we talk about love every day, but we show our deep love for one another and feel so full of the same.

I wanted to tell you a little about my perception of love. I’ve always believed love is magical, a superior power that transmits energy like nothing else in this world. I met the love of my life 12 years ago in Yorktown, Virginia, in September 2004. I remember the first time I saw him like it was yesterday. He taught me everything I know about love, and I’ve never seen anybody love so purely and faithfully like he loves me. In 2006, after our high school graduation, I went back to my hometown in Venezuela and many years passed before we saw each other again, but I remember so clearly how my heart jumped when we saw each other again for the first time 3 years ago. All of my truth lives in his eyes. I love him with all of my soul and I couldn’t imagine my days without his kisses. And that’s what true, deep love is all about, all day, every day.

In collaboration with Daniel Wellington, which at this point you know it’s an understatement to say is one of my favorite brands of all time, I composed this look for Valentine’s Day.

I was looking for something romantic but fun at the same time. I wanted to somehow translate what I perceive love and romanticism to be. I used my favorite trend at the moment, a metallic midi skirt, and to break a little with tradition, I added a new pop of color. This is still a romantic color, and it stands out on such a romantic night, and of course the best accessory of all is my watch from Daniel Wellington. It’s “the ultimate Valentine’s Day present,” (for real tho).  I don’t think there is a specific day to celebrate love, in my house we really look into each other’s eyes and say how much we are in love each and every day. Yo amo San Valentín, no hay nada más especial que celebrar el amor. Tengo la suerte de vivir en una casa donde todos los días no sólo hablamos del amor sino que nos demostramos amor y nos sentimos llenos del mismo. 

 Les quería contar un poco de mi percepción del amor. Yo siempre he creído que el amor es mágico, una fuerza superior que mueve energía como nada más en el mundo. Conocí al amor de mi vida hace 12 años en Yorktown, Virginia, en septiembre del 2004. Recuerdo la primera vez  que lo vi como si fuese ayer. Debo decir que él me enseñó todo lo que sé acerca del amor, nunca he visto a nadie amar tan pura y fielmente como él a mí. Después del 2006 yo volví a mi país de nacimiento Venezuela y pasaron muchos años antes de volvernos a ver, pero recuerdo claramente como brincó mi corazón hace 3 años cuando volvimos a vernos. En sus ojos se esconde toda mi verdad. Lo amo con toda mi alma y no concibo mis días sin sus besos. ¡De eso se trata la vida de amor con el corazón todos los días todo el día! 

En una colaboración con Daniel Wellington, que está de más decir es una de mis marcas favoritas de toda la historia de todos los tiempos, creé este look para el día de San Valentín. 

 Buscaba algo romántico pero divertido a la vez. De alguna manera quería traducir lo que percibo del amor y el romanticismo. Usé mi tendencia favorita del momento, la “metallic midi skirt,” y para romper con las tradiciones agregué un “pop of color” diferente pero still romántico para darle color a la noche, y por supuesto el mejor accesorio de todos mi reloj de Daniel Wellington, que es “the ultimate Valentine’s Day present” (for real tho). En el mes de febrero hasta el 15, DW estará regalando con todas las compras de relojes con correas de cuero un charm de corazón para agregarle aún más romanticismo al regalo. 

Yo no creo que haya un día específico para demostrar amor, en mi casa todos los días decidimos mirarnos a los ojos y decirnos  que nos amamos, pero adoro poder tener la posibilidad de celebrar con la persona más importante de mi vida este 14 de febrero.
