Oh Lola

What a roller coaster year it’s been already! I still can’t believe how much has happened in so little time. I always felt 2017 was going to be a special year, but I never imagined just how much. This is the first look I’ve shared from our trip to Paris (I still can’t believe I was actually there).

But this post isn’t only special because I was in Paris but also because I’m going to tell you about something fantastic that’s happening in our lives at the moment. I already announced on my Instagram account (if you don’t follow me, go check it out @ohlolablog) that I had a gigantic mega news flash, so here goes.

It’s a little weird to write this because the truth is I feel a wave of different emotions, so even though I’m very happy I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic. The news is that in less than two weeks (confetti) we’re moving to Washington D.C. (more confetti). THE REASONS: I honestly think that in another life I was a gypsy, because I can’t sit still for a minute – my husband and I have been planning on moving for a while now, especially since Vera is so young and it’s easier to pick up and go, and she adapts quicker and more easily to new environments. We had several options and D.C. was in our top 2 (giggles). We both love the city and FUN FACT: it’s also where Mr. Pfaehler asked me to marry him. He lived there for a while, so it’s kind of like our third home (or second or fourth, I don’t know! I’m telling you I’m a gypsy, I have so many places I call home!).

 The other reason is that Mr. Pfaehler is the most wanted kid on the block (giggles) and he keeps growing professionally at a truly admirable pace. Some opportunities you just can’t pass up on, and this is one of them.

But like I said earlier, although it’s something we want to do and we’ve planned for a while now, I still feel a little sad. The truth is Miami has been so good to me and my family. I’ll never forget the things that happened here, and I’ll take each and every person that’s been a part of my story here in my heart forever (Lola y Lolo)!

I firmly believe that life is here and now and every second, good or bad, should be cherished. All of my time in this beautiful city has been so special but now it’s time to move on, get to know new places, explore, try new things, and experiment, and I’m so happy for this new phase in my life. The adventures of OH LOLA are just getting started, so stayed tuned for everything that’s coming, because things are about to get real good around here!

Este año ha sido una verdadera montaña rusa, no puedo creer que en tan poquito tiempo hayan pasado tantas cosas. Yo sabía que el 2017 iba a ser especial pero no me imaginaba que tanto. Este es el primer look que monto de nuestro viaje a Paris (todavía no puedo creer que estuve allí).

Pero además de ser especial por ser en Paris en este post también les cuento de algo muy especial que nos está pasando y bueno ya lo había anunciado en mi Instagram (si no me siguen pasen por allá @ohlolablog) que les tenía una noticia súper especial, así que aquí voy.

Para mí es un poco extraño escribir esto porque la verdad hay un remolino de emociones, así que a pesar de que estoy muy feliz no puedo evitar sentir algo de nostalgia. La noticia es que en menos de dos semanas nos mudamos (papelillo) a Washington D.C. (más papelillo). LAS RAZONES: yo la verdad creo que en otra vida fui gitana, no puedo quedarme quieta en un sólo lado así que hace un tiempo que venimos planeando con mi esposo hacer algo así, especialmente ahora que Vera es muy pequeña y es más fácil cambiar de ambiente sin que ella se vea realmente afectada. Teníamos varias opciones y D.C. estaba en nuestro top 2 (risas). Los dos amamos la ciudad, FUN FACT: fue donde Mr. Pfaehler me propuso matrimonio. El vivía allí así que es como nuestra tercera casa (o segunda o cuarta no sé, repito soy gitana así que tengo muchas casas).

La otra razón es que Mr. Pfaehler es el chico más deseado de la cuadra (risas) y sigue creciendo profesionalmente con una rapidez y agilidad admirable. Hay oportunidades que no se pueden dejar pasar y esta es una de ellas.

Pero como les mencioné a pesar de que es algo que queremos hacer y veníamos buscando desde hace un tiempo no puedo evitar sentir nostalgia. La verdad es que Miami se ha portado muy bien conmigo y con mi familia, las cosas que me pasaron aquí jamás las voy a olvidar y me llevo a cada una de las personas que formaron parte de mi historia aquí en el corazón por siempre (Lola y Lolo)!

 Yo creo fielmente que la vida es aquí y ahora y que cada segundo, bueno o malo, debe ser valorado. Todos mis segundos en esta hermosa ciudad han sido especiales pero es hora de moverse, conocer, explorar, probar, experimentar y estoy muy feliz por esta nueva etapa de mi vida. Las aventuras de OH LOLA apenas comienzan así que stay tuned for everything that’s coming, because things are about to get real good around here!
