I want to take things back – just a bit – to when we first moved to DC back in May. I must say we were overwhelmed with the move, but also incredibly excited for everything new: our apartment, the city, the drives, the parks, the food, and much, much more! It didn’t take long for me to completely fall for DC’s diverse city, the metro, the elegant monuments, the fun museums (we were lucky enough to play tour guides already for my family in the short time since we moved).
One of the details of the city I have grown to love, though, is the independent boutiques that are so iconic and typical, each with their own style and vibe, spread throughout different areas. One of the first I visited to go to an event wasLynn Louisa, in Georgetown. I absolutely loved it as soon as I walked in – the space was beautifully decorated, with an antique feel that is so common in Georgetown. The style was to die for – chic, classy, modern. It feels like DC style packed into a two story boutique.
The pieces I show here are just a few that give a taste of the kind of looks you can find there. The plaid dress and leather jacket were a gorgeous pick, and I thought culottes with the open leg and a simple blush top was absolutely perfect for the season. The last piece, the thick pinstriped dress, is a more relaxed outfit (but still elegant), and ideal for hot, muggy days. I recommend Lynn Louisa 100% for anyone looking for a fresh look that you won’t find in any of the chain stores out there. If you’re in the area stop by to treat yourself a bit!

Quiero volver en el tiempo – solo un poco – a cuando nos mudamos a DC en mayo. Llegamos cansados y nos sentimos un poco abrumados por la mudanza, pero además estábamos súper emocionados por todo lo nuevo que nos esperaba: el espacio, la ubicación, los parques, la comida y mucho mucho más! No me demoré nada en enamorarme de la ciudad diversa y divertida que es DC, su metro, sus monumentos, sus museos (ya tuvimos la suerte de ser guias turísticos y conocer mejor la ciudad, puesto que mi familia vino a visitarnos).
Uno de los detalles que más me ha encantado ha sido los boutiques independientes, que son icónicos y a la vez típicos aquí, cada uno con un estilo y una vibra distintos, y se encuentran en todos lados de la ciudad! Uno de los primeros que pude conocer fue Lynn Louisa, en Georgetown, puesto que tuve un evento patrocinado por la tienda. Al entrar inmediatamente me fascinó todo lo que ofrecía – desde la decoración hasta el estilo, que es una mezcla de chic, preppy y fashion moderno que me encanta.
Estas son algunas de las piezas que puedes encontrar en la tienda: el vestido de cuadros con la chaqueta de cuero hacen una combinación divina, y los culottes con la blusa rosada eran perfectos para la temporada. La última pieza, con raya diplomática, es un look más relajado (pero con un toque elegante), y es ideal para los días húmedos del verano. Les recomiendo Lynn Louisa 100% a todas las que buscan un outfit único que no puedan encontrar en las tiendas cadenas. Si estás en Georgetown, aprovecha y pasa por esta tienda maravillosa!
