Oh Lola

We’re in Virginia at Jonathan’s parents’ house, and this is where my husband and I met in 2004. I came here to study English and my first class was Spanish (the idea was that I would learn in reverse), our last names shafted with the same letter so we just so happened to sit right across from each other. He was the first person I met in high school, and he stared and stared at me like I was an alien -giggles- he says that from the moment he saw me he fell in love (I choose to believe him because it seems so romantic to me).

Every year on Christmas Day we take a plane back to his parents’ house, and we really love being here. For me in particular it’s like being at home. I took advantage of the cold weather to debut my parka, which I got from Target’s Who What Wear line.

I matched the olive color with animal print boots. I just love the color contrast between the two, and I also took advantage to contrast textures. This black leather dress is one of my favorite pieces in my closet. It’s a very versatile piece because of the cut and it’s flattering for any body type. Although leather usually is a tough texture to use, in this case it isn’t. The cut and design of the dress make it just casual enough to use at any time with any style. I’m also including some pictures here showing how I wore it on another occasion.

I’m also making the most of this trip by recording my first vlog (I’m so excited!). A YouTube channel is something I’ve been planning for a while and I’m excited for it because it’s a much more personal way of communicating. Estamos en Virginia en la casa de mis suegros, aquí nos conocimos mi esposo y yo en el 2004. Yo vine a estudiar inglés y mi primera clase era español (la idea era que aprendiera al revés). Nuestros apellidos empezaban por la misma letra y nos tocó sentarnos uno en frente del otro. Él fue la primera persona que conocí en el colegio, me miraba y me miraba como si estuviese viendo un alien -risas- él dice que desde el primer instante se enamoró de mí (yo escojo creerle, porque me parece lo más romántico del mundo).

Todos los 25 de diciembre volamos a casa de sus papas a pasar el día de Navidad con ellos, nos encanta estar aquí. Y para mí en particular es como estar en casa, aproveché el frío para estrenarme mi parka que compré en Target de la línea de Who What Wear. 

Combiné el color olivo con las botas de animal print de leopardo, amo el contraste de esos colores. También aproveché para contrastar texturas, este vestido de cuero es una de las piezas favoritas en mi closet. Es una pieza súper versátil por el corte y le favorece a todos los tipos de cuerpo. A pesar de que el cuero es una textura difícil de usar, en este caso no. La forma del vertido lo hace suficientemente casual para usar a cualquier hora y en cualquier estilo. Aquí les muestro cómo me lo puse en otra ocasión.

Estoy aprovechando este viaje para grabar mi primer vlog (estoy súper emocionada por eso) el canal es algo que tengo tiempo planeando y que me genera una emoción especial porque es una manera de comunicarnos mucho más personal.
