Oh Lola

Matching Vera must be one of my favorite things in the world! When I found out I was pregnant, for some reason I “knew” I was going to have a boy, I even picked out a name and everything. On top of that, I already had all of the ideas of how to decorate a little boy’s room in my phone, AND everyone told me I had a “boy belly.” I even dreamed of a baby boy I was so sure. By week 18, during my doctor’s appointment they were going to tell us the baby’s sex, and they gave me the incredible news that the baby was, in fact, a girl! My heart stopped for a second and I said, “Umm, my mother’s instinct kind of stinks…” A thousand thoughts went through my mind, the truth is I never thought much about having kids, but I remember I had a neighbor who had three sons and I always thought, “I love that, I only want boys.” My mother-in-law says you always get the opposite of what you expect. What I did know, though, was that whatever the sex ended up being, my baby would be a sincere blessing. That special moment when my heart stopped and a thousand thoughts went through my mind, I broke into uncontrollable tears and an unknown happiness overtook me, making my hair stand on end. I could only stop to thank God for such a beautiful, unexpected surprise and the kind responsibility of being the mother to such a sweet princess.

 Since Vera was born I have come to understand so many things. I understand that we were born to be together, that she was meant to teach me and I was meant to learn. I understand her kind, delicate eyes are a poem every morning, that she is enchanting and fun. Vera has a pure soul and her Dad’s sense of humor; she makes everyone who passes by fall in love with her with remarkable ease. Vera is my flag and she makes me happier by the day.

I know on the blog we generally talk about fashion, but understand that when it’s about Vera, I get a little romantic.

This mommy and me outfit is definitely my new favorite. As you all know I have an obsession with black and white, so this pattern is simply perfect for me. When this dress arrived from the online store Rosegal, I didn’t plan to match it with Vera. Then, one day as I was just walking around in the mall, I saw the mini-version of my dress in Carter’s and of course I didn’t doubt for a second whether I should get it. Combined they turned out perfect! What do you guys think? Kisses and good vibes for everyone to start the week!

Matching con Vera debe ser una de mis cosas favoritas en el mundo, cuando yo me enteré que estaba embarazada, por alguna razón estaba segura de que iba a tener un varón, no sé por qué. De hecho tenía nombre para varón, tenía ya en mi teléfono inspiración para la decoración del cuarto de un varón, TODO el mundo me decía que tenía “barriga de varón”, inclusive soñé con él, con un bebe varón, estaba segura. A la semana 18, en la cita donde nos iban a dar el sexo del bebé, me dan la gran noticia de que es niña. Mi corazón se paralizó por un segundo y dije “jummm mi instinto maternal de verdad apesta.” Mil cosas pasaron por mi cabeza, la verdad es que yo nunca pensé mucho en tener bebés, pero recuerdo que tuve una vecina que tenía tres hijos varones y alguna vez dije “me encanta, quiero tener puros varones.” Mi suegra dice que uno siempre tiene lo opuesto a lo que espera. Lo que sí tenía claro era que fuese lo que fuese era una súper bendición. En ese momento en que mi corazón se paró, mil cosas me pasaron por la mente, inmediatamente me venció un llanto incontrolable, una emoción que me hizo erizar la piel y sólo se me ocurrió agradecerle a Dios por tan linda e inesperada sorpresa por darme la noble tarea de ser madre de una princesa.

Ahora después del nacimiento de Vera entiendo muchas cosas, entiendo que nacimos para estar juntas, ella para enseñarme y yo para aprender, sus ojos nobles y delicados son un poema cada mañana, es encantadora y divertida. Tiene un alma pura y el sentido del humor de su papá, enamora a todo el que le pasa por enfrente con una facilidad impresionante pero completamente comprensible. Vera es mi bandera y todos los días me hace más y más feliz.

 Ya sé que en el blog generalmente hablamos de moda, pero bueno entiéndanme que cuando se trata de ella, me da por ponerme romántica.

 Este mommy and me outfit es mi favorito sin duda, yo (como ya saben) tengo una obsesión con el blanco y el negro así que este estampado para mí es simplemente perfecto. Cuando me llegó este vestido de la tienda online Rosegal, no tenía planeado combinarlo con Vera, luego caminando por el mall vi en Carters la versión mini de mi vestido y obviamente no dudé en comprarlo. El resultado para mí fue perfecto. ¿Ustedes qué opinan? Les dejo besos y toda la buena energía del universo.
