3 Tips for Winter Layering

I have proven to myself that it is possible to look good while layering for winter. I won’t lie, I had my doubts for sure, I thought it was going to be very hard for me to feel comfortable, warm, and happy all at once with my outfit and Vera’s, too. So I’m going to share 3 tips I use when it’s time to throw an outfit together with this insanely (beautiful) cold weather.

  1. Start with a basic piece or something you know is warm. For this look I’m using really thick leggings whose interior is almost like a sweater and helps keep body warmth in – huge plus! Also, underneath my sweater and scarf I have a long sleeve shirt – very basic, but these pieces are important because they keep you warm without having to use those puffy coats.
  1. Accessories or complementary pieces are everything. Play with as many as you can. Gloves, beanies, scarves, all of it is beautiful, and they help to insulate and keep you warm in the cold. They also always add a cool and chic touch to any look.
  1. Don’t be afraid of textures. If you’ve followed me for a little while now, you know I love textures and I love playing with them (almost as much as prints) -giggles-. The truth is this is what I most enjoy, so always mix as many textures as possible, leather with wool, or velvet with flannel, and never ever go out without a little faux fur! Even Vera has it on her jacket and her hat.

As you can see, it’s all about being a little creative and playing with as many pieces as possible. I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, and let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Stay Fabulous and Kind and Warm!

I have proven to myself that it is possible to look good while layering for winter.

Stay Fabulous and Kind and Warm!
